About The Avenue

Who are you ?

The Avenue is a collective of five experienced psychotherapists and a psychologist. Each of us has our own areas of specialism and experience, but we are united by a commitment to helping people navigate challenges, find greater clarity, and live more fulfilling lives.

What kinds of issues do you work with ?

Clients come to us with a wide range of concerns. These might include anxiety, low mood, difficulties in relationships, self-esteem struggles, life transitions, work stress, trauma, or simply a sense of being “stuck.” Between us, we bring expertise across many areas, and we can help you find the therapist best suited to your needs.

Are you all qualified psychotherapists ?

Yes. Each therapist at The Avenue is a fully trained psychotherapist and or psychologist (all of whom are registered to their respective professional body), working to professional ethical standards and with regular supervision aligned to the requirements of each professional governing body. We also continue to develop our skills through ongoing training.

Can I change therapists if it doesn’t feel right?

Yes. It’s completely normal to want to find the best fit. If you’d like to try working with another therapist at The Avenue, just let your therapist know and we’ll help with the transition.

Can you help me choose the right therapist for me?

Getting Started

How long is a session, and how often will I need to come?

Sessions usually last 50 minutes. Most clients meet their therapist weekly, but we can discuss what works best for you.

How do I arrange an initial session?

Explore our therapist Profiles and contact your preferred therapist directly to book your first session.

Need guidance choosing a therapist?

Book a 20-minute consultation (£50) to discuss your needs and ensure you’re matched with the most suitable therapist.

What happens in the first session?

The first session is an opportunity to get to know each other and explore what brings you to therapy. We’ll talk through your concerns, your hopes for therapy, and answer any questions you may have. It’s also a chance for you to see if the therapist feels like a good fit for you.

Practical Concerns

How long will I need therapy for?

There is no set length. Some clients come for a handful of sessions focused on a particular difficulty, while others work with us for longer periods to explore deeper patterns. This is something you and your therapist will review together.

Do you offer your services internationally?

Yes, absolutely. The Avenue prides itself on its global reach being able to work with clients internationally both remotely and in person dependent on the need of the client and the therapist’s availability. Our ability to work internationally is supported by the multiple languages spoken by the team so if this may be a personal requirement please enquire. All of our therapeutic work is carried out under UK jurisdiction and law.

What if I need to cancel a session?

Cancellations and requests to reschedule must be made at least 48 hours in advance to avoid being charged. Sessions cancelled or rescheduled with less than 48 hours notice will be charged as full price.

Can I use health insurance to pay for therapy?

Please check with us and with your insurer to confirm what’s covered.

What if I’m not sure therapy is for me?

That’s completely fine. The best way to find out is to try an initial session and see how it feels. Therapy is a personal process, and you’re under no obligation to continue if it doesn’t feel right.

What should I do if I’m in crisis or worried about my safety (or someone else’s)?

The Avenue is not an emergency service, so we are not able to provide immediate crisis support. If you are in danger or need urgent help, please use one of the following options:
